Sarasota Man Charged in Child Porn Case

A 42-year-old Sarasota man faces a number of criminal charges after deputies say they caught him in possession of more than 150 photographs and videos of children in sexually explicit scenarios.

A search warrant was executed on Albert Anderson’s 3986 Hina Drive home Thursday following an investigation into potential criminal activity, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. During the search, deputies uncovered more than 150 photo and video files containing child pornography, an email to media from the agency stated. Computers, cellphones and other electronic devices were seized.

Some of the photos uncovered included scenes of sexual battery and bondage, the sheriff’s office noted.

Anderson currently faces 40 counts of possession of images of sexual performance by a child, the agency noted. He is being held in the Sarasota County Jail without bond.

Deputies say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
