Sarasota Man Killed in Fruitville Road Crash

A 51-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Fruitville Road early Thursday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, William Quentin Kincaid was heading west on Fruitville Road around 6:36 a.m. in a Dodge Ram as an International dump truck driven by Reinaldo Claro, 44, of Sarasota was headed eastbound.

Kincaid, a highway patrol report stated, attempted to pass another vehicle and drove directly into the path of the oncoming truck. The front of the Ram struck the dump truck’s front, the report said.

Kincaid died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Claro was uninjured.

No charges have been filed at this time.
