Sarasota Medieval Fair Discount Tickets Now Available

The annual fair makes its return in November.

Tampa Bay area residents eager to step back to a time when knights roamed the land, jousting was the preferred sport and ale flowed freely don’t have much longer to wait.

The Sarasota Medieval Fair makes its return in November. Set to take place on three separate weekends, Nov. 7-8, Nov. 14-15, and Nov. 21-22, the annual event is staged, rain or shine, in Ringling Woods at 3000 Ringling Blvd. Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., tickets begin at $17.95 for adults, $15.95 for seniors, students and military, and $8.95 for kids ages 5 to 12. Seasonal passes are also available for $52.95.

Bargain hunters will find they can fetch hefty discounts on adult passes for only a few more days. The fair announced Tuesday that $4-off adult tickets can be had by using the promo code “NEXTWKD” when ordering tickets online. The offer ends Thursday.

“This is the last $4 off ticket special we will be offering this year, so don’t miss out,” the fair’s Facebook page noted.

This year’s festival has the theme “Battle of Bannockburn” and will feature the Scottish King Robert the Bruce lining up to face England’s King Edward II.

Guest can count on quite a show this year, Shannon Bowden, the fair’s spokeswoman said.

“The cast has been in rehearsals learning a proper Scottish or English dialect,” she said. In addition, much research has gone into costuming and lots of vendors are lined up.

“We know this is going to be a great year, because we’ve had a lot of support,” Bowden told Patch.
