Sarasota Medieval Fair Opens Saturday

Tampa Bay area lords and ladies are invited to witness jousting tournaments, sword fights and more when the Sarasota Medieval Fair comes to town Saturday.

The annual event takes place in Ringling Woods, 3000 Ringling Blvd., behind the Sarasota Fairgrounds. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine, Nov. 8-9, 15-16 and 22-23.

In addition to live entertainment and scheduled shows, including full-contact jousting, the event features rides, games, food and an artisan marketplace. This year’s theme has a decidedly German flavor.

Tickets are $16.95 for adults, $14.95 for students, seniors and military and $8.95 for children ages 5 to 12. A 2014 season pass costs $52.95.
