Sarasota Memorial Ranks High In FL On ‘Best Hospitals’ List: U.S. News
Sarasota Memorial Hospital Health Care System landed the No. 6 spot in FL on U.S. News & World Report's "Best Hospitals" list.

SARASOTA, FL — Sarasota Memorial Hospital earned top marks in U.S. News & World Report’s 2022-2023 “Best Hospitals” list, which was released Tuesday.
The health care system ranked No. 6 in Florida, and in the Sarasota-Bradenton-North Port region, once again nabbed the No. 1 spot.
“We are honored to once again be included in this prestigious list and recognized in such a wide range of specialties, conditions and procedures," David Verinder, president and CEO of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, said in a news release. "These rankings and ratings reflect our continuing focus on quality amid the pandemic, and we are extremely grateful to our team of physicians, nurses and staff providing exceptional care to our patients."

SMH also landed among the 50 “Best Hospitals” in America for rehabilitation for those recovering from injuries and debilitating diseases and for urology care.
Of the nearly 5,000 hospitals U.S. News reviews for its rankings each year, SMH has repeatedly been named among the 50 Best Hospitals in at least one specialty, the health care system said.

SMH also earned “high performer” ratings in 16 other areas — gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, as well as the following procedures and conditions among Medicare patients 65 and older:
• abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
• aortic valve surgery
• chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• colon cancer surgery
• diabetes
• heart attack
• heart bypass surgery
• heart failure
• hip replacement
• kidney failure
• knee replacement
• lung cancer surgery
• prostate cancer surgery
• stroke
• transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
