Sarasota Named Top Florida City For Retirees

SARASTOA, FL — The city of Sarasota ranked at the top of a list of the best 25 places to retire in Florida that was released by Florida for Boomers. The website, which has more than 100,000 newsletter readers, reviewed its analytics and emails from readers to compile the list.

Sarasota came in at number one. The website touted the city for “comb(ining) the historic Old Florida feel with vibrant cultural districts to create one of the most perfect atmospheres anywhere.”

Florida for Boomers suggested that readers looking to move consider Lakewood Ranch, which has numerous 55 and older communities. According to the website, Lakewood Ranch is the number two “selling community in the country behind The Villages,” largely due to its proximity to Sarasota.
