Sarasota Police Event Urges Safety, Environmental Awareness
Sarasota Police will host a family free community event and Blue + You movie night to officially kick off a safe and sustainable summer.

SARASOTA, FL -- On Saturday, June 9, the Sarasota Police Department, in conjunction with numerous community organizations, will host a family free community event and Blue + You movie night to officially kick off a safe and sustainable summer.
It's all happening at Sarasota Police Headquarters, 2099 Adams Lane, Sarasota. The free family event starts at 7:30 p.m. with educational booths from Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, Audubon Florida, Save Our Seabirds and Florida Fish and Wildlife. There will be hands-on activities, crafts and displays from the Sarasota Police Marine Patrol, Crime Prevention, Cub Scouts, Coast Guard Auxiliary, City of Sarasota Sustainability Program, Whole Foods, Sea Turtle Conservation and Research Program and more.
The Blue + You movie "Deep" will begin at 8:30 p.m. on the west lawn of police headquarters.

As the July 4th holiday and Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival approaches, the City of Sarasota wants to share the message of environmental awareness, protection of marine and bird species and boating safety with the community.
Moviegoers are invited to bring blankets, chairs and invite neighbors, family and friends. Complimentary free healthy snacks and drinks will be provided.
