Sarasota Police Present 'Elf' on the Lawn
The Blue + You Movie Series continues with a holiday theme.

Sarasota area residents are invited to take in a flick courtesy of the local police department and a few friends.
The Blue + You Movie Series continues Monday, Dec. 22, when the movie “Elf” hits the big screen on the west lawn of the Sarasota Police Department, 2099 Adams Lane. The lawn area opens at 5 and the show beings at 6:30 p.m.
The movie is free to anyone with a planned rain date set for Dec. 29.

Sponsors include the Sarasota Film Festival and McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre. BJ’s Wholesale is helping out with water, Hollywood 20 is making sure there’s plenty of popcorn and Ringling Pizza and Grill plans to offer pretzels. All refreshments are free, but anyone who donates four cans of nonperishable foods will be entered into a drawing to receive one of five Sarasota Film Festival baskets. All donations go to Mayors Feed the Hungry and All Faith’s Food Bank.
And, just in time for the holidays, Santa will be escorted to the show by Chief Bernadette DiPino with a ride courtesy of Sarasota Fire Rescue.

Les McCurdy also plans to be on hand to meet area residents.
