Sarasota Serial Flasher Busted

A rash of flashing incidents had been reported in the Pinecraft area since December.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office says it’s uncovered the identity of a serial flasher that’s been plaguing the Pinecraft area of town for the past two months.

Deputies brought Stephon Cordera Parker, 28, into custody Wednesday.

The case against Parker began to unfold on Dec. 18 when the first reports about a black male exposing his genitals to women who were out walking or riding their bikes in the Greater Pinecraft Area came in. The complaints kept rolling in with victims describing the same man and the same white Nissan. A license plate was eventually recorded, a probable cause affidavit stated, and it was traced to Parker.

Deputies followed Parker on Tuesday in the Pinecraft area, but lost sight of him for a few minutes. During those few minutes, a new complaint was lodged with the Sarasota Police Department, the affidavit stated.

“The victim in that case was able to identify Mr. Parker and his vehicle as the same person who exposed his genitals to her from the white car while she was walking,” the report stated.

On Wednesday, deputies once again caught up with Parker and watched as he circled the neighborhood for about 15 minutes.

“The windows on his vehicle were down about halfway, and he was driving slowly seemingly attempting to engage women who were walking and cycling in the area,” the affidavit stated.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop and advised Parker of his rights. Post-arrest, Parker admitted his actions, the agency stated.

Parker of 1816 Sanford Circle has been charged with indecent exposure and loitering and prowling. Additional charges are pending in the case.

Parker was released from the Sarasota County Jail in lieu of $20,120 bond.
