Sarasota Sheriff’s Office Asks How It’s Doing
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office recently took to the streets to ask residents how its deputies are performing on the job.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — Members of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office recently took to the streets to find out how residents view the agency and the job performed by its men and women in uniform. Responses from the community and deputies themselves were compiled in a video released by the agency.
“We really do appreciate their service,” said one woman. “I feel bad for them that they have to go to work every day with the animosity.”
“I would say the sheriff’s department is a very professional agency,” a man agreed.

A woman who had to call the sheriff’s office out to her home after a vandal struck her car recalled the treatment she received from the responding deputy.
“She went above and beyond,” the woman said. “It just made me feel (that) she saw me as a person.”

Deputies interviewed for the video shared their thoughts on the Sarasota community, as well. Most remarked about the level of support they’ve enjoyed from residents and the thanks they’ve received for their efforts in the weeks following the deaths of law enforcement officers in Dallas, Texas, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
“It makes the job worthwhile,” one deputy said.
The 4-minute video was released Tuesday on YouTube. The filming effort was undertaken “in light of the recent tragedies that have happened all over the world,” the sheriff’s office explained on Facebook.
