Sarasota County School Bus Gets Stuck In Ditch, No Students Injured: FHP

A Sarasota County Schools bus bringing 30 students drove into a ditch on Hidden Forest Drive Thursday, FL Highway Patrol said.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — No injuries were reported when a Sarasota County Schools bus drove into a ditch on Wednesday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said.

Around 7 a.m., the bus, which was bringing 30 students to school, was heading east on Hidden Forest Drive, approaching Mink Road.

As the driver, a 78-year-old Sarasota man, tried to make a right turn onto Mink Road, the bus turned too wide, entering a grassy ditch, FHP said.

The bus became stuck in the ditch and the driver was unable to move it.

The students were brought to school by a different bus that picked them up from the crash site.
