24-Year-Old Man Dies In School Bus, Motorcycle Crash: FHP
A motorcyclist is dead following a collision with a school bus at Tuttle Avenue and 22nd Street, the FHP said. No students were injured.

SARASOTA, FL — A 24-year-old man riding a motorcycle died following a collision with a school bus at Tuttle Avenue and 22nd Street in Sarasota Wednesday afternoon, Lt. Gregory S. Bueno with the Florida Highway Patrol said.
None of the 27 students aboard the bus were injured in the crash, which took place around 2:30 p.m., FHP said.

The motorcyclist was speeding as it traveled northbound on Tuttle Avenue approaching 22nd Street, FHP said. At the same time, the school bus, driven by a 73-year-old man, was traveling southbound on Tuttle Avenue heading towards the same intersection.

As the bus turned onto 22nd Street, the motorcyclist was unable to slow down, hitting the back of the bus, FHP said. The 24-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene by Sarasota County EMS.
The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
