Semi-Truck Fire Snarls Traffic On I-75 South In North Port: FHP

NORTH PORT, FL — An early morning semi-trailer truck fire has snarled traffic along Interstate 75 S in North Port, authorities said.

While the left lane at mile marker 83, North River Road to Sumter Boulevard, has reopened to drivers, the center and right lanes remain closed, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and use an alternate route.

The fire is contained and there were no injuries, North Port Fire Rescue wrote in a Facebook post. The cause of the blaze hasn’t been released.
