Semi-Truck Rolls Over On I-75 In Sarasota County: FL Highway Patrol

An SUV hydroplaned on the wet roadway, crashing into a semi-truck, which overturned on I-75N in Sarasota County, FL Highway Patrol said.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — A semi-trailer truck rolled over on I-75 in southern Sarasota County Tuesday morning, blocking some northbound travel lanes, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

An SUV driving north on I-75’s inside lane just north of Kings Highway hydroplaned on the wet roadway just before 8 a.m. This caused it to drive across all three travel lanes of the interstate and hit the truck, which was in the outside lane, FHP said.

The truck hit the guardrail on the eastern shoulder before overturning onto its right side, coming to a stop in some northbound travel lanes and the shoulder, the agency said.
