Sen. Rick Scott Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Florida's Sen. Rick Scott is the latest U.S. official to test positive for COVID-19.
FLORIDA — Sen. Rick Scott is the latest U.S. official to test positive for coronavirus, he announced on Twitter Friday morning.
The 67-year-old Republican U.S. senator, who represents Florida’s 13th congressional district, said that he took several negative COVID-19 tests before learning Friday morning that he tested positive for the virus. Scott, who lives in Naples, said he came in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
CBS News reports that the senator’s team said he took multiple rapid tests, and they all came back negative. A PCR test that the Senator took Sunday came back positive Friday morning.

“I’m feeling good (and) experiencing very mild symptoms,” Scott tweeted. “I’ll be working from home until it’s safe for me to return to (Washington) D.C. I remind everyone to be careful (and) do the right things to protect yourselves (and) others.”
He also reminded people to “be responsible” by wearing a mask, socially distancing and quarantining when you come in contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19.
