Senior Living Executive Director Welcomes Residents on her Boat
Executive Director of The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods Peggy Beasley planned a boat trip for residents on her boat Keepin' It Salty

Executive Director of The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods in Sarasota, Fla. Peggy Beasley welcomed residents onto her boat – Keepin’ It Salty – for a fun day on the Gulf of Mexico. Beasley’s husband Rick recently earned his U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s license and Beasley knew the first thing she wanted to do was take residents out on the water.
“Since I was a small child, my entire family has enjoyed all types of activities on the water,” said Beasley, who has served as the Executive Director of The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods since 2013. “When Rick earned his Captain’s license and opened his boat touring business, I knew I had to take The Fountains’ residents out on the water and share the joy of boating with them.”
The Beasley’s planned two boat trips during the month of May, with five residents joining them on each. One outing included a visit with the local wildlife, when an aggregation of manatees joined the residents alongside the boat.

For resident Mary Hough, the outing was a trip down memory lane.
“The boat ride was amazing,” said Hough. “I got to see all my old stomping grounds, as my husband and I used to frequently fish these areas.”
