Southbound US 41 Lane to Close for Road Work

U.S. 41 will have drainage work completed between Versailles Street and Bee Ridge Road and the road will be widened in that stretch.

Starting Friday, the southbound lane of Tamiami Trail, from Bee Ridge Road to Siesta Drive will be one lane down due to construction for one week.

Cone & Graham, Inc., a contractor for the Florida Department of Transporation will make drainage improvements on U.S. 41 between Versailles Street and Bee Ridge Road.

FDOT is callig this unforeseen work and will require the outside southbound lane on U.S. 41 be closed until work is complete.

Drivers are advised to use caution while in the area and to expect possible delays. 

Improvements being made as part of this project include widening the roadway within the existing right-of-way, constructing a median with a one-way direction opening and brick accents, extending the left-turn lanes, and modifying the pedestrian crossing features and overhead signage.
