Stolen Guinea Pig Returned To Pet Store: Sarasota Police

SARASOTA, FL — A guinea pig stolen from a Sarasota pet store has been found and returned to the shop “safe and sound,” Sarasota Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

Peppa, the guinea pig, was taken from a store in the 3800 block of South Tamiami Trail on Saturday around 3 p.m., police said.

The suspect was caught on camera at the store, as video surveillance footage showed a man entering the shop and opening the animal’s cage.

The man, who wasn’t named by police, was identified and given a notice to appear in court, the department said.
