Tampa Bay Towns Named Tops For Christmas

When it comes to the best places in Florida to get into the holiday spirit, two Tampa Bay towns are among the finest.

That’s according to the website Only In Your State, which named Tampa and Sarasota to its Top 10 list of “Christmas Towns in Florida.”

While St. Augustine earned No. 1 honors, Sarasota ranked fourth-place accolades with Tampa coming in at number six.

Snow Fest Sarasota was the event that put this community over the top, the website noted. With its giant snow slides, pony rides and snowman building, the Dec. 18-20 event at Ringling Shopping Center is a not-miss.

Tampa’s honors come courtesy of several events designed to make the holidays sparkle. The website noted the city’s tree lighting, its Santa Fest and the Ybor City Snow on 7th Parade among its reasons choosing Tampa in the Top 10.

Other towns mentioned on the list include Homosassa, Captiva and Miami.
