Teen Motorcyclist Dies In Sarasota-Area Crash: FL Highway Patrol

An SUV turned left into the path of a motorcycle on Clark Road, killing its 18-year-old driver, Florida Highway Patrol said.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — A teenage motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night in a Sarasota County crash, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 18-year-old Sarasota man was heading east on Clark Road in the inside lane, just west of Sawyer Loop Road, at the time of the crash around 9 p.m.

At the same time, an SUV heading west on Clark Road turned left into the motorcycle, hitting its right side, FHP said.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV’s driver, a 59-year-old Sarasota woman, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash, including the motorcyclist’s speed, remains under investigation, FHP said.
