The Peruvian Grill Expands, Aria Opens and Other February Restaurant News

February was a month of openings for new restaurants and expansion for others.

February was the month for restaurant openings. we referenced the anticipated February openings for Brasserie Belge offering authentic Belgian cuisine in an Euro styled setting and the Siesta Key institution which opened its St. Armands location in the former Hemingway’s space.

Also expanding, , by adding another location at 17th Street and Beneva Road. Speaking of expansion, has added a number of new and exciting dishes to their “made from scratch” European menu.

While Aria, a new Euro/Italian restaurant started by Anna Maria's Da Giorgio Ristorante's Giorgio Oldano, has opened on Palm Avenue in the former Zak’s location. Occupying the former Taste of Asia (which moved to Siesta Key) location, at 1535 Main Street, Maemi Peruvian Cuisine opened in mid February and is serving their fare in the small cozy setting.

Also opening in the last couple of weeks is Tokyo Steakhouse. Located in the former Cork and Bottleshop space (which has been totally renovated) in St. Armands Circle, Tokyo Steakhouse is offering hibachi style Japanese cuisine downstairs and a very nice sushi bar in the upstairs space.

If the intensity of work outside is any indication, it looks like the highly anticipated Nancy’s Bar-B-Q should be opening in early March.
