Three Sought After Elevator Damaged At Parking Garage: Police

Sarasota police are asking for help identifying three people after an elevator control panel was damaged at the State Street Parking Garage.

SARASOTA, FL — Sarasota police are asking the public for help identifying three people after an elevator control panel at the State Street Parking Garage was damaged Jan. 31.

Around 9:30 p.m., the three people were seen exiting an elevator in the parking garage. After they left, a control panel was found damaged. The cost to repair it was around $18,000, Sarasota police said in a news release.

One man left the area in a Jeep. There was also a dog with the three individuals, police said.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Rya Coppinger at 941-263-6026 or leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at 941-366-TIPS (8477).
