Meet County Admin Candidates

The second public meeting will be 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14, at the Potter Building, Robarts Arena, 3000 Ringling Blvd.

Sarasota County commissioners will hold two public sessions for the community to meet candidates for county administrator on Sunday, Nov. 13, and Monday, Nov. 14.

According to a county news release, commissioners will then hold public interviews with the candidates from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15. Following the interviews, commissioners will rank the candidates and decide whether to make an administrator contract offer to a candidate.

The first public “Meet and Greet” session will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Venice Community Center, 326 S. Nokomis Ave., Venice. Each candidate will be given an opportunity to talk about their experience, followed by a 45-minute period for questions from the public. The meeting will be moderated by a representative of The Mercer Group, which is conducting the administrator search for Sarasota County. Candidates and the public then will have about an hour to socialize, the release said.

According to the county, the deadline for candidate applications is Friday, Oct. 21. Commissioners will receive the top 15 candidate applications on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Commissioners will review the applications on Tuesday, Nov. 8, and select three to five candidates for the public meetings and selection process.
