Vaccine Clinic Planned For Older School District Workers: Report

Sarasota County Schools employees 65 and older can get vaccinated for the coronavirus at Sarasota Square Mall Sunday, reports said.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County is hosting a special coronavirus vaccine clinic just for Sarasota County Schools employees who are 65 and older Sunday, the Herald-Tribune reported. This single-day vaccine clinic runs from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Sarasota Square Mall.

All school district employees who meet the age requirement, including teachers, administrative and support staff, charter school employees, substitute teachers and those who took a leave of absence during the past year, reports said.

The school district told the Herald-Tribune that 804 employees are eligible to receive the vaccination Sunday. Of those eligible, 368 are full-time school district employees and 411 are substitute teachers. Twenty-five are employees currently on leave.
