Video: Dancing 'Tirade' on Cop Car Lands Man in Jail

The man was caught on camera busting moves on a Lee County Sheriff's SUV.

A 44-year-old Cape Coral man remained behind bars Thursday weeks after he was caught on camera dancing on top of a Lee County Sheriff’s deputy’s marked SUV.

The incident that led to Christian Radecki’s April 7 arrest began to unfold around 11 a.m. when a neighborhood surveillance camera caught him pulling into a deputy’s driveway, striking the SUV’s bumper and then proceeding to climb on top of the vehicle. At first, Radecki is shown “surfing” on top of the roof, but then he starts to dance as loud music blares from the stereo of his own 2000 Lincoln Town Car.

“Apparently, when Radecki is no longer entertained by his own dancing, he moves to the hood of the vehicle, and immediately rips the windshield wipers backward, breaking one of the lever arms in the process,” a probable cause affidavit from the Cape Coral Police Department stated.

Armed with the windshield wiper, Radecki begins to “yell loudly” at Deputy Frederic Janke’s home. He is then seen on the video jumping off the SUV, running across the street and swiping an American flag from a neighbor’s yard.

Shortly after he took the flag, Cape Coral Police arrived on the scene, tipped off by a neighbor’s complaint. Radecki tried to flee around the side of the home, but police managed to catch up with him, the report notes.

“The hood and roof of Janke’s vehicle appeared to have several dented areas, the paint of the rear bumper was scratched, and the windshield wiper and arm were broken during Radecki’s tirade,” the report stated. Janke, police noted, wanted to press charges.

While the crime happened back in April, the surveillance video was only released this week.

Lee County Lt. Scott Lineberger explained, “It’s our vehicle, but it happened in the city limits of Cape Coral.” Lineberger said the surveillance wasn’t released until the police department completed its investigation.

Radecki remained in the Lee County Jail Thursday without bond, charged with disturbing the peace, property damage and petty theft. Jail records indicate he was initially brought into custody April 7, but released April 13. He returned to jail with no bond set on April 23. His trial on all three misdemeanor charges is set to begin June 18, jail records indicate.

Janke is a K9 handler for the sheriff’s office. His wife also works for the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
