VIDEO: Puppies Left on Doorstep

A veterinary technician in Nokomis got a huge surprise Sept. 19 when she arrived at work to find a Pampers diaper box full of puppies outside her office door.

Now, Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies are trying to locate the woman who dropped those 4-week-old puppies off at the Nokomis Veterinary Clinic.

Animal Services, as it turns out, would very much like to speak to the woman shown on the clinic’s surveillance video to find out more about the litter and the circumstances involved.

The puppies sat outside for about 14 hours before being discovered by the vet tech, a sheriff’s office media release said.

The puppies, believed to be American bulldogs, “are not available for adoption, but are being well cared for,” the release said.
