Video Shows Thief in Action

Deputies say the man has swiped donated items meant for Goodwill several times over the past few weeks.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is looking for some help identifying a man it says has made a habit of swiping items donated to a local Goodwill thrift store.

Deputies have released a surveillance video of the man pulling up to the Goodwill drop-off location at 5831 Derek Ave. in Sarasota in hopes someone will recognize him. The man, deputies say, has driven up and helped himself to boxes, bags and miscellaneous items meant for the thrift store.

The man in question is described as heavy set and is believed to be driving a dark maroon or brown sedan.
