Watch: Man Brings Child on Shoplifting Excursion

He's accused of stealing several pairs of sunglasses.

The Sarasota Police Department is asking for help identifying a man it says helped himself to several pairs of sunglasses from a Lenscrafters store last week.

According to the department, the incident unfolded around 9:30 a.m. May 8 when the man and a small girl walked into the 3501 S. Tamiami Trail business. The little girl is estimated to be about 7.

Police say the man and girl entered the store, looked at children’s glasses and then walked over to the adult sunglass section. At that point, the man chose several pairs of glasses and put them in his pockets before leaving the store with the girl in tow.
