Watch: Team Effort Pays Off With Dog's Rescue

The critter was trapped in a storm drain in Sarasota.

SARASOTA, FL — A curious pooch with a nose for trouble found out the hard way that storm drains aren’t friendly places to explore.

Unfortunately for the dog, that lesson was only learned after it became trapped in a storm drain near Midwest Parkway and Fruitville Road. The discovery of the critter trapped in the drain kicked off a team rescue effort Saturday.

Sarasota Police worked with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office’s Animal Services unit and Sarasota Animal Advocates to free the critter from the drain.
