Watch ‘Zootopia’ For Free with Sarasota Cops

The semi-regular Blue + You Free Movie Night returns to Sarasota this weekend.

SARASOTA, FL — Sarasota area residents who want a chance to rub elbows with local law enforcement while taking in a free movie will get the chance this Saturday. The Sarasota Police Department has announced the return of its Blue + You Free Movie Night.

The event is meant as a way to bring the community together with local law enforcement. Staged in cooperation with Culver’s, Regal Cinemas, the Ringling College of Art and Design, Fun 4 SRQ Kids and Safe Kids Worldwide, the event takes place Aug. 13 at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 34th St. The field opens at 7:30 with the movie, “Zootopia,” showing at 8:30 p.m.

Residents are invited to come out, bring their blankets and chairs to catch the show. Free drinks and snacks will also be served.

“Blue + You' is an initiative that honors our community and connects them with the Sarasota Police Department,” the police department explained in an email to media. The department launched the movie series in April 2014.
