Water-Main Break Shuts Down Section Of Busy Sarasota-Area Road: Sheriff
A section of a busy Sarasota-area road remains closed after an overnight water-main break, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said.
SARASOTA, FL — A section of a busy Sarasota-area road is closed Wednesday morning following an overnight water-main break, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to the Beneva Road and Markridge Road in the early morning hours, SCSO said in a news release.
Initially, both the northbound and southbound lanes of Beneva Road were closed between Markridge Road and Kingston Boulevard.

By 4:15 a.m., northbound Beneva Road lanes and one southbound lane reopened, the sheriff’s office said.
Markridge Road is still closed at Beneva Road, the agency said.
