Wawa Sets Sights on Sarasota Location

A site on U.S. 301 and Myrtle Street should be the first to open in the area.

Wawa has plans to enter the Sarasota market in a very big way.

The convenience store chain has set its sights on four locations, with a spot on the corner of U.S. 301 and Myrtle Street likely to be the first opened, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune is reporting. Plans for that store have already been filed, and the Pennsylvania-based retailer has three other sites picked out in Sarasota County, the paper reported.

Other stores are being pitched for University Parkway, Tamiami Trail and Fruitville Road.
