Sarasota Medieval Fair Returns in November

Feast on turkey legs and hearty ales from the English pubs. Enjoy Celtic music and the new artisan marketplace with over 100 shops, food, and snack booths. Plus, step into the adventure with this year’s theme as the Germans battle the Magyar Chieftains at the Battle of Lechfeld in 955 AD!

Visit at least twice as each weekend features a full new line-up of different nationally renowned acts such as: Danger Comedy Juggling & Whip Show, Topsy Turvy, The CRAIC Show, Renaissance Man, and many more! Plus, don’t miss our returning favorites such as the Washing Well Wenches, Cast in Bronze, the Wheel of Death, and the Human Combat Chess Match! Plus, don’t miss the full-contact jousting tournaments held twice daily! This is a Family Fun and age appropriate historical event for all ages.

Our mission is to provide a historically accurate event for all ages. Each year we reenact a different historical battle from the medieval time era providing patrons with a new experience. Once you step through the castle gates you are stepping back into time. All events are listed in our program along with the family rating as to assure parent content rating.

Entertainment Highlights

FULL-CONTACT JOUSTING-The Knights of Mayhem AS SEEN ON NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC! a group of modern-day Lancelots and Galahads dedicated to transforming this medieval sport from a staged act to a professional sports phenomenon that will invade Sarasota.

The CRIAC Show- Hi-energy Medieval Pipe and Drum Show with musical instruments crafted from instruments of war! An intense & wildly entertaining act, made up of four international travelers who were banded together on an ancient battlefield.

Cast in Bronze-Be enchanted by the Magical, Musical Experience of The Carillon! This Rare Medieval Instrument, made entirely of 4 Tons of Bells, each unique in design and note, will stir your soul with the haunting beauty of passionate music.

Washing Well Wenches-Who would think women washing clothes could be hilarious? These outrageous wenches will wash away your blues while they wring laughs from the entire audience.

Human Combat Chess Match-An action packed performance using live actors as chess pieces retelling historical battles! Watch the Germans unite to battle the Magyar Chieftains in defense of their homelands! Only one will prevail, choose your side wisely! Family Friendly!

Cu Dubh-(Koo-Doo) is a lively bagpipe and tribal drum band that mixes eastern instrumentation and dance rhythms. Playing invigorating compositions on thundering Turkish war drums and Highland Bagpipes, they have carved a unique sound that will have young and old alike dancing in the aisles. Family Friendly!

Birds of Prey-Enter the world of Raptors, also known as Birds of Prey, and discover their amazing adaptations, hunting styles and variety. Have up close and personal encounters with live raptors including owls, hawks and falcons. Discover the unique and important role these apex predators play in the environment and learn how to care for and train these magnificent creatures. Educational & Family Friendly!

Create a keepsake memory in our Children’s Realm. Games and Activities represent the games of the time period. Children can try on a costume and have parent’s take pictures! This year Father Christmas in his historical time period costume will make his appearance the last weekend.
