Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe names Kitty Cranor to board
Cranor brings extensive nonprofit experience to the table

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe has named Kitty Cranor to its board of directors. She offers tremendous business savvy and nonprofit experience for the benefit of the organization, which is in its 15th year.
Cranor has been a resident of Sarasota for eight years. She and her family moved here from Louisville, KY where she served on a number of nonprofit boards, including the Louisville Zoological Garden, the Kentucky Art and Craft Foundation, Actor’s Theatre, and the Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center.
Upon arriving in Sarasota, Cranor wasted little time getting involved. She donates her time to organizations including Tidewell Hospice, the Out-of-Door Academy, All Faiths Food Bank, and Healthy Start, where she has served on the executive board since 2008.
Cranor, who earned her Masters of Business Administration from The Darden School at University of Virginia, is married to John; the couple has two sons.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kitty to our board of directors – it’s always exciting to see what new leaders will bring to the table in terms of a fresh perspective and new ways to approach challenges,” said Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe executive director Richard M. Parison, Jr. “During her time in Sarasota, Kitty has shown herself to be an engaged and generous member of the community. We are glad she has chosen to invest her time and talents with us.”
