What's Closed On Memorial Day?

Most government offices are closed on Memorial Day in Sarasota.

Here's a rundown of what's closed and what's open.

Closed

• Sarasota County Library System

• City and County Government offices including and the Federal Building, Sarasota County Administration Building, city and county Public Works offices

• Recreation Centers

• Chemical collection centers at 8750 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, and at 250 S. Jackson Road, Venice.

Open

• will be open from 7:30 a.m.- 2 p.m.

• will be open from noon to 5 p.m.

•  The collection schedule for solid waste, yard waste and recyclables will remain on the regular pickup schedule in both the city and county. 

• The landfill at 4000 Knights Trail Road in Nokomis will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; however, the administrative office will be closed. Also closed are Sarasota County's
