What’s Open, Closed In Sarasota County On Christmas 2021
Here are some closures and schedule changes for government offices, facilities and services over the holiday weekend.
SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — As Sarasota County residents prepare to celebrate Christmas Saturday, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services to keep in mind this holiday weekend.
City of Sarasota government offices: All administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
City of Sarasota Solid Waste Department: Trash and recycling collection services won’t be interrupted.

Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex: Closed Thursday through Sunday.
Lido Pool: Closed Thursday through Sunday.

Nature Trails at Bobby Jones Golf Club: Located at 1000 Circus Blvd. The trails will be open regular hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Payne Park Tennis Center: Closed Thursday through Sunday.
Robert L. Taylor Community Complex: Closed Thursday through Sunday.
Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: The box office will be closed Friday and Saturday.
Sarasota County Area Transit: Regular SCAT bus and SCAT Plus services won’t operate Saturday. These services will resume Friday. The Siesta Key Breeze and OnDemand services will operate regular schedules daily this week. The SCAT administration office and downtown transfer station customer service window will be closed Saturday.
Sarasota County Public Libraries and Historical Resources: All library branch locations and historical resources will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They’ll reopen Monday.
Sarasota County Recreation Centers: All recreation centers will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Sarasota County Public Schools: Schools are closed through Friday.
Sarasota County government offices: All government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Sarasota Emergency Rental Assistance Program Call Center: Closed Thursday and Friday. Will reopen Monday as it doesn’t operate on weekends.
Sarasota County Solid Waste Collections: There are no changes to garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup on Friday.
County Chemical Collection Centers: Closed Thursday through Saturday.
Central County Landfill: Closed Saturday.
Citizen Convenience Center: Closed Thursday. Will reopen Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Re-Uz-It Shop: Closed Thursday through Saturday.
Landfill at 4000 Knights Trail Road: Open Christmas Eve
Knight Trail Park Pistol and Rifle Range: Closed Saturday and Sunday.
Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County: Closed Thursday and Friday.
