SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — As Sarasota County residents prepare to celebrate Christmas this weekend, here are some closures and schedule changes affecting government offices, facilities and services to keep in mind this holiday weekend.
City of Sarasota government offices: All administrative offices will be closed Monday, reopening Tuesday.
City of Sarasota Solid Waste Department: Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection services won’t be interrupted.

Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex: Closed through Monday, reopening Tuesday.
Lido Pool: Closed through Monday, reopening Tuesday.

Payne Park Tennis Center: Closed through Monday, reopening Tuesday.
Robert L. Taylor Community Complex: Closed through Monday, reopening Tuesday.
Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: Closed Saturday and Sunday.
Sarasota County Area Transit: Regular bus, SCAT Plus, OnDemand and the Siesta Key Breeze Trolley will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Sarasota County Public Libraries and Historical Resources: All library branch locations and historical resources will be closed through Monday.
Sarasota County Recreation Centers: All recreation centers will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Sarasota County Public Schools: Schools are closed through Jan. 9. Classes resume Jan. 10.
Sarasota County government offices: All government offices will be closed through Monday.
Sarasota County Solid Waste Collections: There are no changes to garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup on Friday.
Bee Ridge Chemical Collection Center: Closed through Monday, reopening Tuesday.
County Recreation Centers: Closed through Monday, reopening Tuesday.
Central County Landfill: Closed Sunday.
Citizen Convenience Center: Closed Sunday.
Re-Uz-It Shop: Closed through Monday, reopening Tuesday
Knight Trail Park Pistol and Rifle Range: Closed through Tuesday, reopening Wednesday.
Disaster Recovery Center at Shannon Staub Library: Closed through Monday. It will open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Florida Department of Health in Sarasota: Closed through Monday, reopening Tuesday.
