Whiz Kid: Mauro DiPinto

Accomplishment: Mauro is one out of 45 finalists (from an original 450 applicants) to qualify to receive a full academic scholarship under Northeastern University’s Torch Scholars Program. He plans to attend the Boston-area University in the Fall.

Applicants for this scholarship were asked to demonstrate commitment to education, leadership skills, a strong work ethic, motivation, and maturity. The Torch Scholars Program awards full tuition, fees, and room and board scholarships for undergraduate study. As part of the final selection process, Mauro visited Northeastern in March where he took part in an interview and a campus tour.

Mauro, who is fluent in Italian, plans to pursue studies in biotechnology.
