WI Woman Killed In Crash Near Venice Lowe’s Parking Lot Entrance: FHP
A 73-year-old WI woman was killed in a Friday morning crash near the parking lot entrance to the Lowe's store in Venice, FHP said.
VENICE, FL — A 73-year-old Wisconsin woman was killed in a Friday morning crash near the parking lot entrance to the Lowe's store on South Tamiami Trail in Venice, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
She was a passenger in a car, driven by a 73-year-old Wisconsin man, that was traveling south on U.S. 41 in the left turn lane just before 8 a.m., approaching the entrance to Lowe’s.
At the same time, a pick-up truck driven by a 63-year-old Venice man was traveling north on U.S. 41, approaching the parking lot’s entrance from the center lane, FHP said.

The car turned left in front of the truck, which hit the side of the vehicle.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The car’s driver was brought to a local hospital with serious injuries, FHP said.

The truck’s driver, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was also seriously injured in the crash.
