Woman Charged With Murder In Nov. 21 Death: Sarasota Police
A Sarasota woman was charged with second-degree murder in connection with a Nov. 21 death, police said.

SARASOTA, FL — A Sarasota woman has been charged in connection with a suspicious death that happened on Nov. 21, authorities said.
Eugenia Bright, 43, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in relation to the death, according to a Sarasota Police Department news release.
Officers responded to the 800 block of Mecca Drive just before 11 a.m. on Nov. 21 for a welfare check because Bright didn’t show up for work that day.

She was found “in and out of unconscious on a bed” by rescue workers and brought to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, police said. She was given a dose of Narcan on her way to the hospital.
Several pills and a bottle were found on the bed next to her, according to her arrest affidavit.

The body of a 53-year-old man was found on the floor, as well as blood on the door and floor, a large knife, and a handwritten note with funeral requests, SPD said.
“I do not want a funeral!!!! Just cremate me,” the note read, according to police records,
Detectives developed probable cause to charge Bright with second-degree murder, the agency said.
