Woman Dies, 5 Injured After Car Crashes Into Sarasota Garage
The driver of the car, Jorge Luis Williams Denis of Sarasota, is facing several charges including vehicular homicide, police said.

SARASOTA, FL — A woman was killed Friday when a man driving under the influence crashed his car into a Sarasota garage, according to police. Five other women were injured.
According to a Sarasota police report, the crash happened just before 11:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Courtland Street. When officers arrived, police said several witnesses told officers there were six women inside the garage when the crash happened.
Three of the six women were taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with injuries. One woman died on the scene and two other women sustained minor injuries, police said.

The driver of the car, Jorge Luis Williams Denis of Sarasota, is facing several charges, according to police. Charges include DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide, no valid driver's license resulting in death, and three counts of no valid driver's license with serious bodily injury.
Denis is being held at the Sarasota County Jail on no bond. Police said it’s unknown if drugs or speed played a factor in the crash.
