Woman Stole Packages Worth $1,800 From Porch Of Sarasota Home: Police

SARASOTA, FL — A woman faces charges after being caught on camera stealing packages from the front porch of a Sarasota home.

Angelique Poquette, 45, of Sarasota was charged with grand theft, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and knowingly driving while her license was suspended or revoked, according to a Sarasota Police Department news release.

Surveillance video from Dec. 7 shows Poquette in front of the Cosmopolitan Court home about an hour after the packages were delivered, police said. (Watch the video below.)

The video also shows her removing the packages from the porch and putting them in her car.

The items stolen from the home - four pairs of Converse sneakers and 12 Lumen exterior LED lights - were worth about $1,830, according to police. Two other homes in the area also reported packages stolen around the same time.

The surveillance camera captured two characters on the license plate, which detectives used to identify the vehicle and complete the tag.

Poquette was pulled over Dec. 8 by Sarasota police on a felony warrant. At the time of her arrest, she was wearing a pair of sneakers that were reported stolen from the Cosmopolitan Court home, police said.

Her car is currently in the seizure process because it was used to commit a crime. Officers also found cocaine in Poquette’s car and a glass pipe in her pocket.
