Sarasota YMCA Closed Following Electrical Fire
The blaze broke out early Wednesday morning.
YMCA patrons hoping to get in a quick workout will have to wait until Thursday.
A small electrical fire that broke out early Wednesday morning has forced the closing of the Sarasota Family YMCA, 1075 S. Euclid Ave., for at least a day, YMCA officials wrote on Twitter.
The teen center, basketball courts and gymnastics areas are open.

The Sarasota Fire Department responded to the two-alarm blaze early Wednesday morning. Sarasota Police also assisted on the scene.
āThe sprinkler system in the building activated, which caused extensive water damage,ā Sarasota Police explained on Facebook. āYMCA personnel tell Sarasota PD that the building will be closed while clean up and water extraction is completed. ā

It is unclear at this time if the facility will open for business as usual on Thursday.
