The free event had nearly 800 attendees, with one member winning a new electric car
TAMPA, Fla. (October 30, 2012) -- Experiencing several record-breaking new member months this year, and approaching the 200,000-member mark, GTE Financial held its second annual Memberfest to celebrate its members on October 20 at its Ybor City headquarters. Nearly 800 attendees enjoyed the family-friendly activities, giveaways, prizes, music, and food.

Though the annual event is intended as a benefit for current members, prospective members were encouraged to attend and accounted for a spike in membership inquiries. One of the goals of GTE’s recent rebranding, touted at Memberfest, is to help potential members understand that they don’t need a special affiliation to enjoy the advantages GTE offers over a traditional bank.
Other event freebies included GTE’s Techs on Tour – offering members free computer check-ups – and document shredding. Dozens of members took advantage of the check-ups and the company disposed of 1,500 lbs. of sensitive documents that day.
“Members and prospective members seemed to really enjoy the event. We had a bigger turnout this year, and we’re excited this is an annual event that members can look forward to each year,” said Joe Brancucci, GTE Financial President & CEO.
Representatives were also on-site taking applications for HARP II (Home Affordable Refinance Program), a service to help homeowners refinance their mortgages at a lower rate, allowing them to stay in their homes.
