It’s Summertime in Florida – So What’s On Tap for Your Weekend?

It's summertime in Florida - so much to do. What's on tap for your weekend?

I love summers in Florida! There is always something fun to do outdoors. Who care if it’s hot – that’s why we’re in sunny Florida. From music concerts, to festivals, bike rides, and garage sales there is a plethora of choices and this weekend is no different.

The weekend kicks off tomorrow evening at Davis Island Yacht Club, where sailors of all skill levels (booze cruisers included) take to the water for the Thursday Night Summer Racing Series. If you have an interest in sailing, if you’ve ever driven down Bayshore Boulevard and seen all of the boats cruising along the water and wonder how you could be part of the action, or if you’d simply like to meet and make some new friends, then I encourage you to come out, hop on a boat, and see what it’s all about!

On Friday I’m heading out with my girlfriends, Carrie and Karen, to the St. Pete Pride
Festival. Watch out girls here we come!  We’re staying at the Postcard Inn – the anchor hotel for the best parties this weekend.

Saturday morning we’ll hit the parade, then we’ll make our way back to the hotel where the Queens of the Scene, Pamela Palumbo & Darlene Herrick, are hosting the Fire & Ice After Pride Party with DJ Irene Pardo.

Sun, Fun, and so much more! I can’t wait to show off my tan. And what a FABULOUS way to spend the weekend – on the beach, music, people, and q-munity!

And if you can’t make it over to St. Pete, then don’t forget to check our Cold Storage Craft
Brewery
’s Tour & Tasting from 1-4pm on Saturday. Stop in, try a refreshing Florida Ave Ale, and meet the folks who make this place the gem that it is in the Heights!

On Sunday, I’ll head back to the Heights for the Summer Music Festival - HEAL Outside IN. This event takes place at the south end of Ola Avenue on the riverfront. My house, the Ola Oasis, is just a couple blocks north. How cool is that? This is going to be a dynamic community event that you don’t want to miss. Check it out on Facebook. I’ll be biking over with a good friend of mine. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Yes folks, it’s another jam-packed weekend.. You won’t hear any complaints from me! So get out there and have some fun –that’s an order.

I hope to see you out there!
