Cars, Businesses and Gumball Machines Ransacked

Saturday, April 21

  • A property owner at 17000 North Lakeshore Dr. noticed that a residence he rents out was burglarized. The suspects cut the padlock on the front door, stealing flat screen televisions, a laptop and other electronics.
  • An unknown suspect kicked in the rear door of located 513 W. Waters Ave., taking tools and fleeing undetected. The business has an alarm but it did not go off, presumably due to bad weather in the area possibly effecting the system.

Sunday, April 22

  • Someone entered the Tampa Mattress building at 9001 N. Nebraska Ave. through a pre-existing hole in a wall on the east side of the business. The suspects destroyed a pair of gumball machines before fleeing undetected, capturing a total of $12. 

Monday, April 23

  • An male suspect stole a dark grey 2004 Nissan Altima from a car dealer in the 7700 block of N. Florida Ave. after asking if he could hear the engine. After starting it, the salesmen went to fetch a dealer plate so they could take the car for a test drive. The suspect then jumped in the car and took off northbound. Video evidence of the incident was given to police, and forensics processed fingerprints from another car the suspect touched. He is thin, in his mid-20s and was last seen wearing a green shirt and green hat. 

Tuesday, April 24

  • Unknown suspects entered a house on the 3900 block of E. Jean St. by breaking the glass of a living room window. Once inside, they stole two flat-screen televisions and a surround sound system.
