Clean S.W.E.E.P. Coming to Central Tampa
The city's annual enhanced trash collection program hits Old Seminole Heights on Monday and works its way through Central Tampa's neighborhoods through July.

Finally — your chance to get rid of those railroad ties piled up in the garage is almost here.
The City of Tampa's Solid Waste Enhanced Environment Program (S.W.E.E.P.) is coming to Central Tampa starting Monday and running through July. That means the city will pick up and haul off debris and refuse from residences outside of the normal trash, recycling and yard waste.
So things like furniture, appliances, toilets, and yes, even railroad ties are good to go during S.W.E.E.P. week. Over the past five years, S.W.E.E.P. has removed 13,489 tons of bulk trash items and debris from Tampa's neighborhoods, according to the city.
