Coachs' Kids Shine at Hillsborough, Tampa Catholic
Travis Lyons and Micah Kroll put in crucial performances as postseason basketball is in full swing.
Male athlete of the week: Travis Lyons
The junior guard scored 26 points in Hillsborough's final game of the season, a 63-58 loss against King high school in the district 5A-9 basketball tournament.
For the season, Lyons has been a key player for the Terriers as their leading scorer averaging 10 points per game. Coach Stephanie Crawford says that her son played up to expectations, most importantly his own.

"My son came to me the night before the game and said that he had to have a good game," Crawford said. "He actually looked at me and said, 'Mom, I have to have a good game for the team.'
"He did that very well."

Female athlete of the week: Micah Kroll
The 5-foot9-inch junior had one of her best games of the season in Tampa Catholic's class 3A regional quarterfinal this week.
Kroll was good for 24 points, 8 rebounds and five assists in the Crusaders 85-44 victory over Avon Park. For the season she averaged 13 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and four steals per game.
"A few of us have been in a shooting funk," Micah Kroll said after her performance this week. "I just tried to focus on taking good shots and hoped they went in."
