The zoo's third-aannual cultural festival known as Día del Niño, or Day of the Child, is reminiscent of a festival celebrated in Mexico and other Latin American countries.
This one-day celebration features a variety of family activities and entertainment including live music from local Latin artists, bilingual talks, and an appearance by Dora the Explorer.
