Loving Kindness and Yoga with Bari Ruck, BA, RYT, LMT MA55190

“Metta (loving-kindness) practice helps us not just understand but feel that we are woven into a great web of relationships, which we can light up through the power of our attention. And it helps us shift our focus from getting love to creating it, from improving our bodies to cherishing them, and from fixing life to embracing it.”(Anne Cushman)

Loving-kindness brings with it the power of transformation that begins with the self and will radiate out into the world automatically. How would our lives be different if we learned from early childhood to love ourselves deeply? From that place of deep internal love we will be more loving towards others. In Hebrew it is called Tikkun Olam, to heal the world. It refers to humanity's shared responsibility "to heal, repair and transform the world." All of this can start with the love of self. In this class, we will learn how to infuse a Hatha Yoga practice with loving-kindness. We will combine heart opening yoga poses, breath awareness and intention to cultivate an attitude of metta or loving-kindness. The proceeds from this class will be donated to a local homeless shelter. Any clothes or food that you wish to donate can be included.
